Awaken by an air raid siren warning everyone to take shelter in a bomb shelter, but was a false alarm. Daikichi, Gen's father, questions why these American aircrafts aren't bombing on Hiroshima. Gen's younger brother, Shinji, shows his father the boat that Gen made and plans to take him to the river to try it out. Getting ready for school to start, Gen and a girl friend noticed a B-29. Thinking nothing of it since there's one plane that can't do any harm. Tossing a pebble up and down, drops the pebble and picking it up; the B-29 dropped the bomb.
