Sakura Wars: The Movie

Alternate Name: サクラ大戦 活動写真 (Sakura Taisen: Katsudo Shashin) Director: Mitsuru Hongo Year: 2001 Trailer: A new branch for New York developed and Ogami, one of the Flower Division is transferred to the Paris Division. Without Ogami the Flower Division fight along with a new leader from America. Will the Flower Divisoin get along with the American leader? The CGI segments were cool along with the animation, but the story was dragging throughout the film. I thought that the ending scene was probably the best of the entire movie. Rating: ☆☆☆             Rent it

Wrath of the Ninja

Alternate Name: 戦国奇譚妖刀伝 (Sengoku Kitan Yotoden) Director: Osamu Yamasaki Year: 1989 Trailer: During the Sengoku era, an evil warlord Oda Nobunaga claims to be a demon by killing anyone who stand in his way. An ancient prophecy claims that there are three mystical Demon Blades from three clans that could end Nobunaga's rein. Kasumi, a young female ninja, tries to find the other two Demon Blades according to the prophecy. Will Kasumi find the other two Demon Blades and will anyone defeat Nobunaga? This film suffers from stiff animation and not enough character development. Rating: ☆☆☆             Rent it

Ah! My Goddess: The Movie

Alternate Name: 劇場版 ああっ女神さまっ (Gekijoban Aa! Megami-sama!) Director: Hiroaki Goda Year: 2000 Trailer: Beginning of the New Year at the Nekomi Institute of Technology, various clubs seek new members. One of them is the Motor Club, displaying all of the vehicles that were once raced with; including the double seat motorcycle that Belldandy and Keiichi will be using. Some new members join the club, but most were scared off by Toraichi and Otaki. A former mentor of Belldandy, Celestin appears and kisses Belldandy. To everyone's shock, Urd attacks Celestin, but he disappears. Urd notices that Belldandy was infected by a virus along with Yggdrasil which separates Heaven and Earth for security measures. Belldandy has no recollection any memories of Keiichi, but in an instant could remember Skuld and Urd. Will Belldandy get her memory back? Why did Celestin return and wipe Belldandy's memories? A beautiful film that was good and shows that true love never die

They were eleven

Alternate Name: 11人いる (Jūichinin Iru) Director: Satoshi Dezaki and Tsuneo Tominaga Year: 1986 Every three years there is a test to challenge new space cadets. Ten selected space cadets aboard a decommissioned space cruiser as their final test. To pass this test all of the cadets would be respected by their respective societies. However, aboard the space cruiser they found they've gained an additional cadet to their team. Who could be the eleventh member? To me this film felt like "Lily C.A.T." even though this came first. Characters are stiff, bland and boring. Rating: ☆☆             Skip It
