Alternate Name: 西遊記 (Saiyu-ki) (Journey to the West) Director: Taiji Yabushita, Daisaku Shirakawa and Osamu Tezuka Year: 1960 Trailer: In the begging, Alakazam was a coward young monkey was encouraged to become the king. Taking on a test to determine the monkeys to be king and Alakazam succeeds. Once attaining the throne, he becomes the egotistical and dictatorial and believes that he is the only one to be almighty ruler. Mischievously tricking Merlin the magician to teach Alakazam magic. Being reckless with his magic power Alakazam decides to go to the Heavens to challenge King Amo. Will Alakazam be able to rule the Heavens against King Amo? The music is a little catchy and the animation is almost smooth but choppy at times. The background looks beautiful; feels like "Sleeping Beauty". Alakazam feels like a big jerk through out the movie which could be aggravating at times. Rating: ☆☆☆             Rent it

Armitage III Dual-Matrix

Alternate Name: アミテージ・ザ・サード DUAL-MATRIX (Amiteji zasado Dual) Director: Katsuhito Akiyama Year: 2002 Trailer: A few years have past for Naomi Armitage and Ross Sylibus since they first met. They both live comfortably on Mars with their daughter Yoko. Society still believes that androids are a burden and have no purpose to have around. A debate on Earth about the android having use or not. Ross has an opportunity to either agree or deny the idea. Will the androids and society be able to live in peace or just shut them down for good? This film felt like the opposite of "Armitage III: Poly Matrix". What I mean is that the film drags too long wanting more action. Even though you get it at the end, but still wanting more. Rating: ☆☆☆             Rent it

Armitage III: Poly-Matrix

Alternate Name: アミテージ・ザ・サード POLY-MATRIX (Amiteji za sado Poly-Matrix) Director: Hiroyuki Ochi Year: 1997 Trailer: In 2046, majority of the human population is losing trust and trying to avoid using androids. Detective Ross Sylibus is transferred to Mars due to his partner killed by an android. Arriving at the airport Detective Sylibus is caught into a heist where a country singer was murdered and Detective Sylibus meets his new partner, Amitage; a female cop with an attitude. After the heist at the airport an increase of female androids murders occur. Will Detective Sylibus and Amitage be able to capture the person responsible for the crimes? This film keeps at a steady pace and the action also keeps the film from slowing down. Detective Sylibus and Amitage are interesting characters, but wish there was a little more depth in their back story. Rating: ☆☆☆☆             See it
