Hearing a blind traveling shamiasen play her shamisen, Nitaroh wants to become one as well. The woman teaches him. Will Nitaroh master the shamisen? I really like the theme of this movie. If you dream no matter how big or small and you'll be able to achieve your dream if you work hard. After watching this movie I would like to play that shamisen. Rating: ☆☆☆☆             See it

Alternate Name: 大き１ねんせいと小さな２ねんせい (ookii 1 nensei to chiisei 2 nensei) Director: Ayumu Wantanabe Year: 2014 Masaya is a first-grader, despite his tall stature he is scared to walk alone in a dark path to school. A little girl who is a second-grader named, Akiyo helps him. Masaya would like to be brave like Akiyo, but an unfortunate event happens that brings Akiyo into tears. Will Masaya be able to help Akiyo? A cute little film, and the animation was nicely done. Just wished it was longer than it is. Hopefully there will be more following these two either in another movie or a television series. ☆☆☆ Watch it

Alternate Name: たまこラブストーリー (Tamako rabu sutori) Director: Naoko Yamada Year: 2014 Trailer: Tamako Kitashirakawa and Mochizo Oji are neighborhood friends, their parents run a mochi shop. A fight between Mamedai and Gohei (Tamako and Mochizo's fathers respectively.) over each others mochi. Mochizo tries to end the fight and encouraged by Tamako. Later in the gym at the high school, Tamako and her best friend Midori Tokiwa both practice their baton twirling. Another member of the baton club is Kanna Makino. Seeing a flyer of Usagiyama Marching Festival, Kanna convinces the rest of the baton club to perform at the festival to make memories. In the club room, Mochizo observe the film that the club made about a panda bear in the forest grabbing an apple. However, diverted to clips of Tamako. Inuyama points out a booklet for a Tokyo university that Mochizo plans to apply for. Both Inuyama and Momotaro puzzled about his decision, saying that he'll be separated f

A new girl named Soo-min transferred from Seoul. Cheol-soo, wants to become a scientist after graduating from school. Cheol-soo befriends Yi-rang and start of a new friendship. Will Cheol-soo and Yi-rang help each other with each others dreams? There are many movies that have the same concept of a boy and a girl liking eachother and help the other to grow. I may not fully understand the concept of this film, but it dose it well. Might start out slow and gradually builds up. Rating: ☆☆☆             Rent it
